On September 7th, 2010, Canada Post began issuing a stamp to raise awareness regarding mental illness. This is the third stamp that Canada Post has issued with this theme in the last three years since establishing the Canada Post Foundation for Mental Health.

This organization has manged to raise more than $2.5 million since its creation in 2008. Every year, Canada Post tries to display an image that is uplifting and hopeful for the millions of Canadian facing the challenge of coping with mental illness. This year’s permanent rate stamp features a patient on the path to recovery. The mountain, sun and tree in the design accurately symbolize hope, growth and the light that comes with healing, as does the bright color palette.
