Parfois, deux timbres peuvent para\u00eetre identiques et la seule fa\u00e7on de les diff\u00e9rencier est de mesurer leurs dentelures. Certaines mesures de dentelures sont plus rares que d&rsquo;autres, ce qui peut augmenter consid\u00e9rablement la valeur du timbre en question. Les dentelures sont petites et la diff\u00e9rence entre deux mesures peut \u00eatre minime, donc il faut beaucoup de lumi\u00e8re pour bien voir ce que vous faites.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2)<\/strong> Si vous poss\u00e9dez un odontom\u00e8tre en plastique transparent, il peut s&rsquo;av\u00e9rer utile de placer l&rsquo;outil sur un fond de couleur uni; personnellement j&rsquo;aime utiliser une enveloppe en papier kraft ou un papier cartonn\u00e9. Si votre odontom\u00e8tre est en m\u00e9tal, le fond est l&rsquo;outil lui-m\u00eame.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3)<\/strong> Glissez votre timbre le long de l&rsquo;odontom\u00e8tre jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 ce que <strong>toutes<\/strong> les \u00abdents\u00bb soient bien centr\u00e9es entre les \u00abpics\u00bb noirs de l&rsquo;odontom\u00e8tre. Vous trouverez cela peut-\u00eatre plus facile si l&rsquo;endos du timbre vous fait face; vous serez ainsi moins distraits par les couleurs et le graphisme du timbre, \u00e0 vous d&rsquo;en juger. La valeur num\u00e9rique de la mesure se retrouve g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 de la rang\u00e9e de points noirs. Puisque la plupart des odontom\u00e8tres mesurent seulement par des demis ( ex. 12 ou 12\u00bd ), un timbre qui mesure 13.1 ou 13.6 sera difficile \u00e0 jauger. Faites de votre mieux!
