On August 8th, 2011, Canada Post began issuing a new stamp commemorating the 50 year anniversary of the winning of the Harmsworth Cup by the Miss Supertest III hydroplane. The Harmsworth Cup races were established by Mr. Alfred Harmsworth in 1902 in order to help develop motor launch racing.
New 2011 Canadian roadside attractions stamps
On July 7th, 2011, Canada Post began issuing a new set of four stamps in its ‘Canadian Roadside Attractions’ series. This series began in 2009 and continues to delight with its bright colours and fun facts about travelling along Canadian roadways. This year’s entries are: The World’s Largest Lobster, The Wild Blueberry, The Big Potato and The Giant Squid.
New 2011 Canadian recording artists stamp series
On June 30th, 2011, Canada Post will begin issuing another series of stamps celebrating Canadian recording artists. This is the third installment of the series which began in 2007. This year the four honorees are : The McGarrigle Sisters, Bruce Cockburn, Robbie Robertson and Ginette Reno.
New 2011 Art Deco Canada stamps
On June 9th, 2011, Canada Post began issuing a new series of stamps celebrating Canadian buildings designed in the Art Deco style. This style, popularized after World War I was widely used around the world in the 1930s and until the 1940s.

On June 22, 2011, Canada Post began issuing another stamp in the Signs of the Zodiac series. This month’s entry is Cancer, the Crab. Of all the celestial constellations, this one is the most difficult to view in the night sky since it is very small and its stars glow faintly. Its star points are said to trace out the crab’s claws.

Signs of the zodiac, Canada 2011 stamps, Gemini
On May 20th, 2011, Canada Post began issuing a new stamp in its ‘Signs of the Zodiac’ series. This month represents Gemini, or the Twins. The constellation of Gemini can be viewed best in the night sky during the months of January and February, but in May you can also see it after sunset. The two brightest stars of the constellation are named Castor and Pollux (or Polydeuces).
