On January 17th, 2011, Canada Post began issuing a new series of five P-rate stamps featuring the Canada flag in conspicuous and inconspicuous places.

The stamps feature the flag on the shoulder of a Canadian Forces member, on a hot-air balloon, on the shoulder of a Search and Rescue expert, on the Canadarm and a backpack.

The purpose of this series is to encourage Canadian patriotic pride. The framing of each stamp features a large «O», recalling the opening line of the Canadian national anthem, «O Canada».

On January 17th, 2011, Canada Post began issuing a new series of definitive rate stamps featuring baby wildlife.

Animals and wildlife are one of the most popular topics for collectors and these new stamps will not disappoint. Cute and cuddly, fuzzy and fluffy, these stamps just make you want to reach out and snuggle their subjects!

The four stamps feature the following wildlife: two Arctic hare leverets, a red fox, two baby Canada geese and a baby polar bear cub. Awwww!!!!

 On the 7th of January, 2011, a new Canada stamp marking the Chinese Lunar New Year began being issued. This is the Year of the Rabbit and both stamp and souvenir sheet feature playful white rabbits bounding across a vibrant red background. Always colourful, the design on this year’s Chinese New Year stamps, inspired by Chinese embroidery designs, will be sure to please once more.

On October 19th, 2010, Canada Post began issuing a new series of low-value definitives featuring beneficial insects.
This is the second issue with such a theme. The new denominations on these defintives will certainly help when it comes to calculating the correct postage for letters and packages according to the new Canada Post rates.

The series of 5 stamps features the paper wasp, assassin bug, large milkweed bug, the dogbane beetle and the margined leatherwing. All of these friendly insects, despite the sound of some of their names, are appreciated by farmers and gardeners alike. Featuring bright, almost luminescent colours, these stamps will be sure to please collectors.

Canada Post began issuing a new stamp for the Christmas 2010 season on the 1st of November. The stamp features the traditional interpretation of the Madonna and Child. The image was photographed from a lime wood sculpture by Antonio Caruso, a renown Italian-Canadian artist. The sculpture, called «Our Lady of the Night» is very much admired for the gentleness and tenderness that it conveys.

On the 1st of November, 2010, Canada Post began issuing a series of stamps designed for the Christmas season. The three stamps featuring glass blown ornaments were chosen to exemplify the festive aspect of the season. The ornaments glitter from the paper in shades of orange, blue and fuschia pink, along with a delicate scattering of snowflakes.

On October 4th, 2010, Canada Post will begin issuing a new $10 high value definitive stamp featuring the majestic blue whale. The beautiful creature’s long, slender body graces this stamp which will continually remind us of the blue whale’s endangered status. The blue whale is also the largest animal ever known to have existed.
